So here it is, the wallpaper I spent nearly a week on. LOL. I had asked lolly if contestants were required to use the SG logo, and he said we weren't. So I didn't add it. I wanted to create a work of art that both fit the requirements of the contest and that could stay in my gallery after the contest is over.
Everything is painted, and any/all textures used are mine. I wanted to make sure there would be no drama in case I used someone else's stock and they didn't want to be associated with the contest.
EDIT: In an effort to appease both my fans and my daddy I've done some changes and left some things the same. My daddy loved how the tail looked, so I left that alone. But I added more definition to the abs, reshaped the hips a bit, and changed the shape of the shoulder.
YOU ARE WELCOME TO USE THIS WALLPAPER AS A WALLPAPER FOR YOUR DESKTOP AND NOTHING MORE. PLEASE DO NOT RE-DISTRIBUTE, EDIT, CROP, OR MISUSE THIS IMAGE FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE!
I like her face and hair, nice job on those. But the pose is really strange and severely awkward. Especially with her torso area. The tail also seems really small and funky
I tried changing her position, but she looked even more awkward. Also, I wanted to make her tail look as if it is extended backwards and becoming blurry in the distance...

Oooh okay, that makes sense then. Hmmm, it doesn't look like it's going back (even with the blur). Although, I'm not really sure how to make it look like it is. Maybe you could play around with foreshortening parts of the tail. I have an idea of what might help, but I'm not sure how to describe it. What is your email address? Maybe I could send you a quick sketch on what I mean.
Wait, nvm - I can just upload the file to my server
Here's a really quick sketch that might help explain what I mean. I also aside from the tail changed her shoulders and arms - she just looks so stiff in your picture. Maybe if you made the one arm come inwards instead of outwards and lowered the shoulders a bit she might not look so tense:
Seriously well worth the wait. I love the different eye colors, they almost appear to be glowing. I also like the non-tradtional look of her top, it seems like a blend between her hair and a top. The lighting too is superb. Wonderful job dear! Best of luck.. you'd have my vote!

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
