I've come to realize something, and it is thanks to the responses I received to my recent journal (which is now gone).
Understand something first and foremost: I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER made art for the sake of fame, pageviews, attention, or popularity. Apparently, some of you got the wrong idea and assumed I did this all the time. Trust me, I do not. However, when I compared the favs my first image from the series received to the favs the second and third received... it seemed like those two photos were not up to par with the first. To me, that seemed to be the reason why no one faved them. Since so many people just fav and run, that is really the only indicator I have to how well done an image is.
That being said...
I do not create fanart for the sake of gaining popularity. As a matter of fact, a lot of the art I create is inspired by mangas/animes and they are not fanart in any way. The few times I actually do fan-art in my own unique way, I get accused of simply adding to the growing amount of fanart on DA.
I don't care if you dislike fanart.
I don't care if you dislike Bleach.
I especially don't care if you think fanart is done too much on DA.
If you like my art, you like my art and I thank you.
If you don't, then suck it.
*sigh*
